
Once a touring singer/songwriter with two albums of original folk music, Jennifer Friedman is a certified Dance leader and Mentor in the DUP tradition living in Colorado.
She founded and led the Longmont and Lafayette, CO DUP Circles for 18 years and has been a long-time member of the leadership teams for the Canyonlands Dance Camp, Spring & Fall Paonia, Colorado Dance Camps, Troncones, Mexico Deepening into Being Retreat and Puerto Morelos, Mexico Dance Camp. Jen led Virtual Peace Dances online for 2 years during the Covid pandemic while also working actively as a hospital chaplain at 2 Northern Colorado hospitals where she continues to this day.
She currently leads monthly DUP circles on the 2nd Sundays each month, 2-4pm at Longs Peak UMC, 1421 Elmhurst Dr. in Longmont, CO and on the 4th Sundays each month, 11am-1pm at the Nyland Co-housing Community Common House, 3525 Nyland Way in Lafayette, CO. Jen leads frequently at Dance retreats and camps throughout the US, 3 times a year in Colorado with her Dance mentor Bernie Heideman and Sky Roshay and in Mexico with Friends: Shivadam Adam Burke, Douglas Stevenson, and many more.
Jennifer has led Dances and sacred singing at events large and small throughout North America and the world including at the last three Parliament of the World’s Religions in Salt Lake City, UT, Toronto, ON, CA and Chicago, IL, the General Assembly of Unitarian Universalist Congregations, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and in parks and Colorado street corners for causes she cares deeply about.
She presents musical church service programs and workshops which incorporate the Dances for all denominations and faith traditions.
